What it is and what it is for

Structuring an ISMS and ISO 27001 implementation provides organizations with a systematic framework to manage information security risks, harden digital assets, and achieve international certification.

Phased ISMS and ISO 27001 implementation methodology

We structure the roadmap methodically to guarantee genuine operational adoption and rigorous technical enforcement:

  • Gap Analysis benchmarking existing controls against ISO/IEC 27001 requirements and Annex A controls.
  • ISMS scope definition, master security policy, and operational governance structure.
  • Information security risk assessment methodology, asset valuation, and threat modeling.
  • Statement of Applicability (SoA), operational procedure authoring, and control hardening.
  • Pre-assessment internal audit and dedicated on-site assistance throughout the accredited external certification audit.

Global Reference Frameworks

We leverage the most respected international security frameworks to ensure seamless cross-standard interoperability:

  • ISO/IEC 27001: International standard specifying requirements for establishing and certifying an ISMS.
  • ISO/IEC 27002: Code of practice for information security controls across organizational, physical, and technological domains.
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF): Core alignment across Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover functions.
  • CIS Critical Security Controls: Prescriptive technical hardening for enterprise infrastructure.

Who this service is for

Companies in the legal, healthcare, education, professional services, manufacturing, and retail sectors that lack an in-house security team and must formalize security governance to certify processes, bid on tenders, or satisfy partner security audits.

What ORIT delivers

  • Initial Gap Analysis measuring compliance against clauses 4 to 10 and the 93 controls of ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
  • Formal information security risk assessment and treatment methodology tailored to your business model.
  • Documented and justified Statement of Applicability (SoA) for all Annex A security controls.
  • Complete package of security policies, operational procedures, and audit evidence templates.
  • Hands-on technical guidance throughout the internal audit and Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification audits.

How we work

1
Phase 1 - Scope and Gap Analysis: defining ISMS boundaries and evaluating baseline security maturity.
2
Phase 2 - Risk assessment and treatment: identifying assets, threats, vulnerabilities, and treatment plans.
3
Phase 3 - Policy documentation: establishing mandatory governance policies and technical operating procedures.
4
Phase 4 - Control operation: implementing technical safeguards and gathering operational audit evidence.
5
Phase 5 - Internal audit and certification: conducting independent reviews and assisting through official certification.

Business Benefits

  • Demonstrable trust for enterprise customers, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Systematic, quantified reduction of data breach and intellectual property loss risks.
  • Streamlined compliance with global RFP contractual standards.
  • Embedded organizational security mindset across technical and executive teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ISMS?
An Information Security Management System is a systematic framework of policies, processes, and controls that an organization uses to manage risks to its information assets. ISO/IEC 27001 defines the requirements to establish, operate, and continually improve it.
How long does it take to achieve ISO 27001 certification?
It depends on organizational scope and starting maturity. For a mid-sized organization with a focused scope, the process typically takes between 6 and 12 months: gap analysis, risk treatment, control implementation, evidence generation, and a two-stage audit.
Is ISO 27001 mandatory?
It is not mandatory by law for most companies, but more and more clients, public entities, and parent companies require it in their contracts. It also serves as evidence of demonstrated accountability in personal data protection.
What changed in the 2022 version?
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 updated Annex A from 114 to 93 controls grouped into four themes (organizational, people, physical, and technological) and introduced new controls such as threat intelligence, cloud security, and data leakage prevention. 2013 certificates expired in October 2025.
